General Lighting Changing the small recessed lighting to a bigger close-to-ceiling lighting that has a unique shape and contemporary
form will provide lighting for everyday activities as well as give ‘creativity’ to the restroom. Using a bigger lighted
mirror or a vertical wall sconce will focus the illumination, mostly during the evening, to the person’s face and to
Task Lighting the workspace (the sink). Adding a wall sconce near the sink can work as an accent lighting and will highlight the
area creating a focal point, setting the mood of a restroom. Also, instead of using cool white1, 2 and warm light3,
Accent Lighting soft warm white light (2700K – 3000K) is often recommended as the most flattering bathroom lighting)

•What is light efficiency in it?

In order to create functional spaces but also

visually appealing rooms, choosing the right light
is essential. To make it happen, layering lighting
can help to achieve light efficiency by using three
types of lighting: ambient lighting brings lighting
for daily activities, task lighting provides focused
illumination for work areas and accent lighting
sets a mood and creates a focal point by
highlighting a specific area.
After choosing the lights, we must take into
consideration the bulb (incandescent, halogen,
fluorescent, led) as well as the color
temperature, which is measure on the Kelvin
temperature scale (1900K-6000K), depending on
the type of room, the activities that will take
place and the mood we want to create.
