Mabinay Science High School

Respected Teacher,

I am Kiana Kristel Damian, a student of grade-11 Galilei, section B.

I am well aware of the details, including the date and time at which this task needs to be
submitted, Miss, and that we are going to make our own position paper based on the article
you sent in our group chat. It includes the exact deadline for the said seat work, which was last
week. However, I was running an errand, and I was busy at that time since the district
encampment needed a campfire presentation, and I practiced really hard on that. Sadly, Miss,
we did not get the prize, but I am still thankful for the experience. And to add to it, I forgot that
I still have to deal with my responsibilities as a student, for which I need to comply with various
tasks on time, and this includes the “position paper making portion”. I really admit my mistake
regarding not submitting my seat work on time, Miss. I tried to submit my task on the date and
time you had given me, Miss, but things were not favorable. I am veritably sorry about the
irresponsible deed, Miss. I cannot promise that from now on I will comply with activities on
time because promises are meant to be broken. Guys are good at it; they are good at breaking
their promises, and I am not them and will never be. Thus, I will try my very best, Miss, to
comply with the different upcoming activities on time.

It is my humble request to you to please forgive this mistake Miss and I will do an extra miles
effort by being very careful in the future. I shall be very thankful to you Miss for this act of
kindness.

Regards,

Kiana Kristel Damian

Student’s Name
Wearing School Uniform Should be Compulsory
Kiana Kristel Damian
A study of the “Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) indicates that school uniform is a type
of clothing where learners are required to wear in school. Nearly all public schools under the
state institution of Department of Education (DepEd) have their own set of uniforms which
their students are committed to wear. Yet, in the past three years of being isolated due to the
widespread spanning of the COVID-19 disease, the way of learning has changed, students
learning using self-study was the primary use back then. Good thing, according to the
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the said network that
generates a reliable update promulgates that the Philippines is not already on its tip state or
the Country’s cases related to such communicable disease keeps decreasing, they added
concrete statistics that after the latest surge in cases, the weekly positivity rate has declined to
4.8% from early September when the highest weekly positivity rate (27.9%) was recorded since
the start of the pandemic (DOH). Since the decrease in new COVID-19 cases, improvement is
also observed in the healthcare utilization rate. Thus, the Malacañang proclaims that the
normal way of learning is back. However, the news has affected other content for the reason
that the newly-elected Vice-president in the Philippines, Madam Sara Duterte announced that
it is not compulsory to wear school uniforms in school since buying the materials in having your
very own school uniform will be costly so it is better to not wear such uniforms in school. When
learners all wear similar wardrobes every day at school, it can increase the percentage of
playing field. Any anticipations on what to wear are vanished and these adorable life forms can
surely exhibit and implement a greater sense of equality. Yet, there have been issues,
comments and arguments that exhibits a concept where not making the “ wearing of school
uniform” compulsory can produce various negative impacts. And since not wearing school
uniforms can have various impacts, there are arguments which presents why wearing school
uniforms should be mandatory. By not wearing school uniforms, it can lost the spirit of a
breeding sense of cohesion and commonality. Wearing school uniforms, can minimize the
potential for bullying, can also increase the level of self-confidence among learners, learning
school uniforms also increase safety, can also fairer dress codes, reduces peer pressure,
assesses help to let out on the learner’s comfort zone or to face the outside world and enjoy
weekend style. The contents above shows that wearing school uniforms should be compulsory
due that it exhibits bunch of positive effects not only for the students but also towards their
parents, for the betterment.
Children come together from different backgrounds and can immediately identify a fellow
member of their team from the clothes that they wear, breeding a sense of cohesion and
commonality that is lost when school uniforms are removed. Next is minimize the potential for
bullying, even though students are the same which are belong on the highest form of animal,
the yelling fact can still be seen visibly where when some students are trying to express
themselves by wearing the type of clothing that they want, the probability of them being
bullied is high since all human beings have different perspectives in life, what looks good for
other life form can surely be a local low-form of fashion on the other exister which is an
ethnocentrism type of behavior and this causes negative effects to the students mental and
physical health since they can be bullied on the fit that they worn but through wearing school
uniform, yet on wearing uniforms there is no level of standards regarding on the type of
clothing that every students must wear. A lack of confidence can be one of the most significant
barriers to academic growth. Introducing a school uniform removes this possibility, meaning
your child has less to worry about and more reason to be confident In class. Wearing school
uniforms also increase safety. There are relevant safety concerns on not implementing a
uniform in school. Let us say for example, one learner has been lost in the crowd and that
learner has no idea about the world and its hazard factors but if the learner is wearing a school
uniform, he/she can easily be identified by the fit that he/she is currently wearing. And if there
are some outsiders, they can also be identified directly on the type of clothing they used.
Next is fairer dress codes, though not wearing school uniforms in school can help due that
learners are no longer need to buy materials for their uniform since it is not mandatory to wear
such fit, it brings the existence of another more bulky dilemma where learners must follow
simple dress codes and this type of law affects negatively mostly towards girls since dress code
policies tend to be not so-good in terms of implementing such equal distribution of treatment.
By using a uniform, there is a small chance that these laws cannot be disobeyed by students
since wearing a school uniform is compulsory. Then it reduces peer pressure, students these
days are under the type of black power or the peer pressure. Without a uniform, children can
create a concept or idea in their minds perhaps some anticipations about what should be worn
to fit into a certain group. Children divide themselves into clusters and the form of bund that a
uniform brings is lost. Prepare for the outside world. School uniforms prepare children for
formal scenarios that we all encounter in our lives. Depending on the situation, we are
expected to dress and look a certain way.
Enjoy weekend style, it feels good to wear something we like it is like a free meal to our souls,
helping to build self-confidence in who we are. After wearing such formal attire (uniform) five
days a week, children can create a greater sense of appreciation for their other clothes since
they would miss the feeling of wearing their clothes like those tops and favorite genes that they
have and which they can finally wear those fits on weekends and evenings.
Therefore, wearing school uniforms should be compulsory for the reason that it is veritably
beneficial not only for the students but also to their parents, for the betterment of everyone. To
this, social inequality that is the unequal distribution of treatment which has been spanning
among the country can be reduced and the self-esteem of the students cannot be affected
negativity base on the every day fits that they are wearing since they are just wearing school
uniforms.
