Cones – Gables
Procedure
1 Determine heading
Check angle of road (fence line) by placing a long fence section scaled up to match the full length of the fence
line. Adjust the direction (fine tuning by entering adjustments in the ‘Heading’ box). Adjust the height of the
end of the fence by using the ‘Pitch’ (or ‘Bank’ depending on the original design angle of the fence). Leave this
fence section in place to help with alignment of the rest of the fence sections.
OR
Use Google Earth and its ruler to get an angle (adjusted by 90 180 or -90 depending on design angle of the
fence).
3 Align sections
Place the first section of fence then add second section to the end and adjust from inline then to the side so
they meet. Viewing from the side of the join select the first section and enter a new 'Pitch' (or ‘Bank’ depending
on fence type) value to adjust height to match the second section (determined by the angle of the ground) . If
the ground is very lumpy then shorter sections may be required to stop the fence sinking or being air born at
mid-section. If pitch required is more than about 5 deg then 1 section fences (Pitch 0 deg) may look better (no
match for height possible).
4 Adjust the length (end point) of the fence line to match the scenery
Several ways of doing this.
--For long lengths
-Adjusting the ‘scale’ (entering new values in the scale box is easiest). Best done on the longest sections
or all sections (minimal effect on the height). Pitch (angle) can be readjusted to help match heights.
Height can also be adjusted in the ‘offset to ground’ box
(untick the ‘Snap to ground’ in the ‘Properties’ box).

HINTS:- this fence has the mesh fixed to one side (as in real life). The mesh from one section has to be
accurately aligned with the next section. All sections must be same scale.
Aligning sections - Start above fence and align 2 sections side to side by moving the second section. Move to
the side about 10m away and adjust the angle of the first section by entering values in the ‘bank’ box so both
sections match vertically .
Adjust length by - small adjustment to scale (all sections) - adding no-post sections – overlapping sections

HINTS:-
The corner posts come with no mesh so use the no post sections as in the example above. Easy way is to
‘Duplicate’ fence-corner-concrete-start-cbj and then ‘Replace model’ to fence-low-mesh-no-post-1s-cbj so
both centers are then in the same place.
This fence has the mesh fixed to one side (as in real life). The mesh from one section has to be accurately
aligned with the next section. All sections must be same scale.
Aligning sections - Start above fence and align 2 sections side to side by moving the second section. Move to
the side about 5m away and adjust the angle of the first section by entering values in the ‘bank’ box so both
sections match vertically . Recheck and adjust side to side.
Adjust length by - small adjustment to scale (all sections) - adding no-post sections – overlapping sections. The
example above shows this with fence-low-mesh-no-post-2m-cbj fence-low-mesh-no-post-1m-cbj
added and over lapped as required. Then adding fence-low-mesh-post-cbj

HINT
1. Place mesh sections with two no-post sections at start and one at the end
2. ‘Duplicate’ first section and ‘Replace model’ with farm-fenceWood-start-cbj and move it sideways
3. in Gizmo enter heading+90 (calculate) to match fence direction enter 0 in ‘Bank’ (if not 0)
4. ‘Duplicate’ and ‘Replace model’ with farm-fenceWood-post-cbj and move it to end of farm-fenceWood-start-cbj
5. Select both objects ‘Duplicate’ and drag to the other end of the fence and replace fenceWood-start with fenceWood -end
6. Select end objects and move into position next to mesh fence as shown above

NOTE:- All flying gliders are available as --- ‘Scenery’ visible 24hrs a day
Or --- ‘SimObject’ visible only in daylight (1 hr after sunrise to 1 hr before sunset)
READ THIS:- ‘SimObject’ gliders have an MSFS bug that causes them to drop back to ground
level when viewed from a distance. This seems to only affect them when they are positioned on
sloping ground. To test for this bug turn on ‘Options > Debug model LODs’ (makes them easy
see). Now go back into the distance and watch the LODs and they will suddenly drop down to
ground level (disappear from high up). If everything is OK they will stay high until the S:0.50
value drops below 0.5 when the model disappears due to small size. Problems or even the
slightest doubt then use ‘Scenery’ version.
Scale:- scale these and the scale of the path will change as well

windsock msfs2020 stock
tsr-windsock_red_lit (‘windy things’ library by trfsto)
tsr-AUS_ flag (‘windy things’ library by trfsto)
scenery > flag-pole-8m-cbj
These are all ‘SimObject’ (‘object type’ in ‘Object’ box). This menu takes about a minute to load so be patient.
SimObjects cannot be scaled which is why the ‘windy things’ objects with smaller windsocks are included in the
photo. ‘windy things’ is not my library so all credit to trfsto if you use them. This is a small sample of the many
windsocks and flags in this library.
IMPORTANT
All the larger windsocks are based directly on the MSFS stock windsock which will point 180 deg in wrong
direction unless the heading is set to EXACTLY 0. Do this by entering 0 in the heading box.
The windsock at the bottom of the ‘Object type’ list (as opposed to the same one in the SimObjects list) did not
respond to entering 0 for me (because the editor always adds a few numbers to the 0 ie 0.000014).
The solution for this is to edit the ‘Save Scenery’ .xml file .
This is located in your_airport > PackageSources > scen > your_airport_SCN.xml
Save a copy in case you muck it up then open it in Windows notepad. Use the Edit>Find.. menu to locate the
windsock and enter 0 for the heading.
windsock-light-cbj windsock-light-cbj
windsock-orange-cbj
Hints:-
- Adjusting lights to match windsock.
The lights are already at the correct height. The horizontal position needs to be adjusted. Final adjustments can
be done by observing the direction to move at the top and then moving close the bottom to do them. Entering
the same position in the Lat, Lon boxes does not work because all the figures are not shown there. (you could
edit the .xml).
