Assemblyline RRC rear conversion FXD-R – RRC DX10 for HD Dyna models
ATTENTION!
We ask you to read the complete instructions before starting the assembly and to proceed accordingly
step by step. Before the final painting, a complete test assembly should be carried out.

ALLGEMEINE INFORMATION:
In the design of the FXD-R rear conversion, care was taken to ensure that only the holes already
existing on the vehicle are used as mounting points.
However, as usual in the majority of cases with the Dyna rear conversions, it is necessary to shorten
the original Fenderstruts.

ASSEMBLY:

Before starting the assembly work, make sure that the vehicle is safely stationary!

- All parts covering the rear area (rear fender, tail light, turn signals, etc.)are removed.
Apart from the cables and connectors of the rear light, turn signals and license plate lighting, none
of the dismantled original parts are required anymore.

- The frame rear struts shall be shortened in accordance with Figure 1.

Figure 1.

- After separating the frame booms, the cut edges are deburred and protected against corrosion with
commercially available paint.

- Attach the tail light and the license plate holder to the rear part and put it on easily. The mounting
of the license plate holder takes place incl. the turn signal holder. For this purpose, the anodized
spacers are mounted at the front mounting points and the turn signal bracket including two
standard washers between the rear part and the license plate carrier at the rear points. In the event
that the installation should take place without the included turn signal holder, two more of the
anodized distances are also included. Figure 2 shows the inside of the rear section including the
pre-assembled tail light as well as the turn signal holder and the license plate holder. Also shown in
the picture are the anodized distance sockets (to the right of the rear part) which are only needed
for mounting without a turn signal holder.

- Insert the plastic distance bushings into the rear holes of the frame booms.

- In order to avoid damage to the coating of the frame, there are two strips of "Anti-RattelTape" in
the scope ofdelivery. These in the area of the front contact surface
glue to the frame.

- Then place the GRP rear part on the frame and fix it with the front screws (M6 x 20) including the
washers.

- The rear mounting screws with the smaller of the washersthrough the holes andbushings of the
frame booms. The scope of delivery includes compensating discs whichcan be mounted between
the inside of the rear part andthe frame boom. Basically, we supply 2 of the balancing discs with,
of which usually only one of these discs is needed. In principle, the installation should be
tension-free. Accordingly, the rear section should not be pulled together or pushed apart. With the
compensating disc or discs, the position or orientation of the rear section can alsobe inflowed.
Depending on the vehicle conditions, the rear can still be mediated with these windows.

- Gradually tighten all bolting points, align the tail light and the license plate carrier and also finally
fasten them.

- Hang the seat base plate with the front tab, insert it with the thread ends through the slotted holes
of the rear part and screw it. The slotted holes allow direct alignment of the seat to the vehicle and
rear section.

- After completion of the test assembly and especially before the start of the actual painting work,
check all support and screw connection points again and, if necessary, rework them. Care must be
taken to ensure that the rear part lies exclusively at the bolting points and that the installation is
tension-free. The seat base plate should have sufficient distance to the side covers and theedges
running parallel to the reference lines.

- The rubber grommet used in the rear part for cable entry can be removed again for painting. The
rear part is already filled and can be painted with all commercially available paints. For the
interior of the rear part as well as the corresponding splash guard, we recommend the use of a
durable stone impact protection paint.

- For final installation, the Rückleuchte, thelicense plate lighting alreadymounted on the license plate
carrier and, if necessary, the turn signals must be connected to the cables and plugs of the original
wiring harness.

Tail light: Ground = Black

Tail light = Yellow
Brake light = Red
License plate illumination: Ground = Black
Lighting = Black / White

- Run the cables for the tail light, turn signals and license plate lighting through the cable grommet
and lead out of the rear at the front end of the rear section on the right or left. (Figure 3 )
Under normal circumstances, there is enough space for the cables on both the right and left side.
When positioning the seat base plate, only make sure that none of the cables is squeezed between
the frame and the contact surface.
