master’s study and received monthly stipend which covered my tuition fees and other expenses.

Research Project

Pharmacological evaluation of hydroalcoholic extract of Zizyphus lotus L. fruit in experimentally induced Rheumatoid Arthritis in
rats.
Collagen induced arthritis(CIA) model is mostly similar with human rheumatoid arthritis in which type II collagen (CII) + CFA leads
to an autoimmune response that results in severe arthritis in multiple joints within 3-4 weeks of injection. Zizyphus lotus L. Fruit
has been proven for immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activity which inhibits the cytokine release upregulated in
Rheumatoid arthritis. Anti-Arthritic Activity evaluated on the basis of C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Rheumatoid factor (RF), Erythrocyte
Sedimentation Rate(ESR), Anti Cyclic Citrullinated Protein Antibody (ACPA), IL-6, Tissue Necrosis Factor (TNF-α), Arthritis score
and paw volume measurement by Plethysmometer.

Animal Handling (Rat, Rabbit, hamster, mice), blood collection from  various routes (retro-orbital blood collection from rat, mice
and hamster, marginal ear vein blood  collection from rabbit), Various Routes of administration of drug, Animal dissection
