Equations for Calculating Expansions Stress Range and Allowable Stress Value
Displacement Stress Range due to thermal expansion is calculated based on equation SE, per equation
17 from ASME B31.3 (clause 319.4.4)
The SE value shall not exceed SA value, where SA = Allowable Displacement Stress Range.
The SA value is given by the equation 1a from ASME B31.3 (clause 302.3.5)
Where :
N = equivalent number of full displacement cycles during the expected service life of the piping system

Basic Allowable Stress at Sh 20,000 Psi Basic Allowable Stress : A-106-gr.B, at 200oF,
maximum temp. (Design temp = 175 degF)
