RTL COURSE SYLLABUS IN CER129

Course No./Title: CER129 - Phase Equilibria in Ceramic Engineering

Course Credit: 3 units

Duration 18 weeks (August 22, 2022 to January 12, 2023)

Effort 3 hours per week

Delivery Mode: Synchronous and Asynchronous (RTL)

Course Description: A review of one and two component systems is conducted. This is then followed by studies on the three-component system in terms of
quantitative and qualitative interpretations of ceramic phase diagrams relating to problems involving simple and multi-component systems. The
use of different types of ceramic phase diagram is presented as a tool for quality control design and characterization studies in the development
and formulation of ceramic batches.

Learning Culminating
Outcome: At the end of this course, the student will be able to describe and quantitatively interpret simple and multi-component ceramic phase diagrams
applied to the characterization studies in the development and formulation of ceramic batches.

Prerequisite: CER126

Co-requisite: None

Room number and MOLE Room 318 and CER129_Mole_Classroom
