• A worn bucket can lose as

per cycle. A 6.0 m3 bucket
can be reduced to a 4.8 m3
bucket before it is rebuilt,

production losses.

SHARKTM G.E.T. is wear material used to protect the Bucket, it can also add structural strength.
Without correct G.E.T. fitments worn buckets can flex under load which can cause premature failure or
cracking

5 REASONS WHY SHARK™ GROUND ENGAGING
TOOLS
BUCKET LIFE EXTENSION
By using our SHARK™ Ground engaging tools bucket life can be extended up to three times, avoiding
premature major bucket rebuilds.
5
COST SAVINGS
SHARK™ Ground engaging tools can provide cost savings up to 45% during the total life of the bucket.
DOWNTIMES REDUCTION
With SHARK™ Ground Engaging Tools we can significantly reduce maintenance downtime and extend
change-out intervals.
PRODUCTIVITY OPTIMIZATION
By using SHARK™ Ground Engaging Tools we can maintain the original bucket geometry longer preventing
premature wear affecting optimal productivity through one pass loading maximizing each load.
OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
Without SHARK™ Ground Engaging Tools, buckets are subjected to wear and tear impacting productivity
direct maintenance and indirect maintenance costs. Ineffective buckets can influence the drive train
components and influence fuel consumption and tire wear.

INCREASE YOUR OPERATIONAL PROFITABILITY
WITH HIGH-QUALITY BUCKETS & G.E.T.
• Sandvik OEM buckets and SHARK™ Ground Engaging Tools (G.E.T.) have
been developed and manufactured by our highly skilled R&D and
engineering specialists. Together with our EQ design teams, they offer
the best solutions for your underground operations.
• Made of high-quality steel & materials (hard materials HB400 used in the
frame and HB500 in the lip plate), Sandvik buckets and G.E.T. are made to
last.
• We are working closely with foundries around the world to ensure castings
of the highest standard.
• Our G.E.T. follow continuous design improvements often based directly
on customer feedback, and with a dedicated engineering team focusing on
implementing changes in a timely fashion.

SANDVIK G.E.T. & BUCKETS
KGHM RUDNA MINE, POLAND
CUSTOMER SITUATION
Due to difficult hard rock mining conditions & abrasive
dolomite rocks, bare lip buckets were quickly wearing Play video
out. A lip replacement often leads to cost efficiency and
increased machine productivity.
For this reason, a total bucket concept was introduced
as a solution that would reduce maintenance costs over
the long term, but simultaneously benefit production.
CUSTOMER SITUATION
There are 13 Sandvik LH517 loaders in operation at the Agucha
Mines (including 8 spare buckets), all of which are subjected to a
high level of wear and tear. The Sandvik India G.E.T. team and
Sandvik team onsite at Agucha have been working closing with
HZL to develop a better understanding of their business and
investigate ways of increasing their loader productivity.
Studies indicated that the buckets were subjected to excessive
wear, with complete refurbishment required after 800 operating
hours. Lip plates wore out quickly, often cracking due to
the hard rock and difficult conditions
