During this pandemic, a lot of people are suffering. COVID-19 has presented many new
social and economic challenges, and is exacerbating the existing ones. One such challenge is
global poverty. Poverty is not something to take lightly because most Filipino are suffering in it.
These people are always finding ways on how to survive, given the economic ramifications of
the pandemic. They cannot afford the things and they cannot find jobs properly because they do
not have enough money. This just shows that people living in poverty are having the lower hand
in socioeconomic survival in the Philippines. They would always do whatever it takes just to
survive.

With the little help of the government, they’re devoting their attention to other matters
that can only benefit the upper class and give much lower than the bare minimum in helping
those experiencing poverty. Even though they are receiving goods and services, it still cannot
help them to live on with their daily lives. I’m pretty sure that it can only last them for only a few
days. I don’t know what the government is doing but they need to do better for these people. For
me, it is sad to see their situation because they have so many things that they aspire to do, but
they could not achieve them. Some of us are lucky enough to be privileged and if we put
ourselves in their position, we would be devastated. It is sad to see that in this time,
hopelessness is the most common sight we see. We should be grateful for the blessings we
have received because other people cannot be as fortunate as some of us.
