Packing your hospital bag? What to take...

Print out this checklist to help you remember everything you need for your baby's birth For your labor:

Your birth plan (it's best if you've discussed this with your doctor before birth) Your childbirth class notes (if you attended one) Childbirth class certificate (if applicable) Dressing gown Slippers Socks An old nightdress or T shirt to wear in labor Massage oils or lotions Lip balm Snacks and drinks Watch with a second hand to time contractions Digital camera or camcorder (check with hospital first) Relaxation materials: books, magazines etc Hair tie. If you have long hair, you may want to tie it up Pillows, to make sure you are comfortable Toiletries Water spray to cool you down Music to listen to

After the birth:

Going-home outfit Breastfeeding bras Breast pads Maternity pads Nightgown or pajamas that open in front Dressing gown or bathrobe Toiletries Address book / List of people you'd like to get in touch with Mobile phone and charger Lots of change or a prepaid phone card for all the calls you may want to make. You may find you cannot use your mobile phone in the hospital building Toiletries and grooming kit Old, cheap or disposable underwear Ear plugs (in case you end up on a noisy ward) Abdominal binder

For your baby:

Infant car seat Clothes for hospital stay One outfit for the trip home (all-in-one stretchy outfits are easiest)

Receiving blankets Diapers Mittens Socks Hat Washcloth documents needed for the hospital. clothes. (good for 3 days, including yung pampalit mo sa gabi). i make sure that madali siya for breastfeeding. i bought tube dresses para ibababa ko nalang yung dress tapos mag cover nalang ng shawl in case nagbbreastfeed ako. No shorts no pants kasi masakit yun. marami akong pamalit dahil marmi daw talaga yung dugo pag nanganak. beauty kit and personal kit (mga toothbrush, lip gloss dahil magddry daw lips, mga sabon etc para makahilamos. include MATERNITY and BREAST pads) babys clothes and diapers, also receiving blanket snacks in case of long labor and para may kinakain din yung mga 3 in 1 na drinks like coffee milo or milk kasi important ang fluids for breastfeeding. maraming mineral water para hindi ma dehydrate slippers and not shoes. mahirap na pag naglalabor ka na etc. maraming panty --surely we'll all be staining nursing bra reading materials, gaming materials or laptop in case mabored yung mga kasama

For Mommy: Comfy going-home clothes. Nursing Bra Underwear Maternity Napkin Binder (if undergoing c-section)

Breast Pads Socks Slippers Comb Extra Pillows (For me and my companion, since I don't feel comfortable with hospital pillows.) Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo for my companion) Towels Government I.D.'s/papers (philhealth, driver's license) Charger for my cellphone Camera (and charger) Something to read like a magazine or baby care book (In case you get bored watching TV) Money / loose change (for food, parking and miscellaneous expenses) Down payment for the hospital (most private hospitals ask for this before you get admitted, it's best to be prepared.)

For Baby: Going home clothes (for top and bottom or overalls, receiving blankets, mittens, booties, Cap) Cloth Diaper / washcloth / pampunas

For guests: *I had quite a number of guests before, and most of them might visit me the second time around. So, I have also prepared the following. (this is optional actually) Disposable plates, cups, utensils (most of my guests brought food and beverages.) Mineral Water (for me, my companion and guests) Snacks / Juices
