Culture Shock on the First Day
of Face-to-Face Learning

T
he COVID-19 pandemic has
greatly impacted the education
system, and many students have
had to adapt to new modes of learning,
such as distance or online learning. For
grade 8 students at Sanlibo National High
School, the transition from distance
learning to face-to-face learning was a
culture shock that they were not prepared
for.
These students were in grade 5
before the pandemic, and they had been
learning from home for almost two years.
While they had adjusted to the online
classes and virtual learning environment,
they were not ready for the changes that
awaited them on their irst day of face-to-
face learning.
On the irst day of school, the
students were greeted with new faces,
new rules, and a completely different
