Cherry Blossom Festival

The cherry blossom festival is one of the famous

celebration in Japan. It is also called “sakura” in Japanese.

Usually, it is celebrated around late March or early April. It

marks the beginning of spring in Japan. During this time,

the cherry blossoms blooms beautifully. They make a

charming sight with their colourful presence in various

parts of the country.

The cherry blossoms are usually white or pale pink

coloured. Sometimes, they are in dark pink or yellow. They

also changed colour as the blooming period progresses. They

symbolize the delicate and beautiful nature of life. The

beauty during its season often attract locals and tourists to

visit Japan.

The cherry blossoms viewing is called “hanami” among

the Japanese. It refers to “cherry blossom viewing”. It is

the centuries-old practice of enjoying a picnic or party

under a cherry tree in bloom. In some places, you can even

enjoy a late-night hanami picnic with pretty paper lanterns.
