QUESTION
Marz Co Ltd is a manufacturing Company which started its operation in Dar es Salaam in
2005. During its initial operation it was producing only children meal products which
were of high quality and were distributed within Dar es Salam. Two years later the
company joined with Houry Co. Ltd to form a new Marzhoury Co. Ltd. Due to
enlargement of the Company the activities also were enlarged and add on
manufacturing of soft drinks, food products like wheat flour and maize flour. These
products were sold all over the country. Lucky enough in 2014 the Marzhoury Company
Ltd opened new branches in Mwanza,
Mbeya and Arusha. In each centre every business unit operates independently each
with its functional areas. With this expansion of activities the company also needs
competent people with necessary skills and knowledge to push the company from
where it is now to where it wants to be in the future. Required

(a) Identify the strategy adopted by Marzhour Co. Ltd during its initial stage of operation
(b) Explain other strategies adopted by the Company to win the competitive advantage

(c) Assume you are required to advice the manager of Marzhoury Co. Ltd on hiring
competent people, which skills would you suggest those employees to possess

A)Business strategy level


This is the strategy adopted by Marzhoury Company limited during the initial stage
because as this level focuses on growth of the company, they adopted this strategy
level in order to make better understanding of a business and its external environment.
where by its actions where to enlarge their businesses so as the company to have
branches

B)The other strategy adopted by Marzhoury co ltd are;

i) Function strategy level:


This strategy deals with a fairly restrictive plan. It gives the objectives for each specific
function can include marketing, finance, manufacturing, human resources, and more, as
its adopted by Marzhoury Co. Ltd to win Competitive advantage.

ii) corporate strategy level;


is an action taken to gain a competitive advantage through the selection and
management of a mix of businesses competing in several industries or product
markets.Also this level gives the answers on the foundational question on what you
wish to achieve it is Litable and applied in a big company like Marzhoury co. Ltd.
Corporate strategic plan generally encompasses: The vision for the organization, The
company’s values, The Strategic Focus areas and other more.

C) What I can advice to the manager of Marzhoury Co.Ltd is that, to hire the competent
professionals basing on specific technical qualifications, which are assessed by
examinations or according to the training and experiences.Thus he/she can get skilled
human resources, Accounting and marketing professionals
