GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. Search for a movie/series/documentary related to your field of
specialization/ study

• What is the movie all about?

The story centers on an architect from 2004 and a doctor from 2006 who connect
through letters left in the mailbox of a lake house where they both resided at
different times. They maintain a two-year correspondence even though they are
separated by time.

• Who are the characters, what is the setting of the movie?

Young architect Alex Wyler creates suburban condominiums. With his famed but
selfish architect father Simon, he has a rocky relationship. Despite his dislike for
the lake house and its unpractical layout, Alex decides to live in.

A physician named Dr. Kate Forster begins a new job at a hospital in Chicago.
She was the lake house's previous renter. Morgan is her boyfriend, who she later
gets engaged to before breaking up with.

The lake house itself was built on what is called Maple Lake, located within the
Maple Lake Forest Preserve off of 95th Street in the southwest suburb of Chicago:
Willow Springs.

• What is the most challenging part of the movie that influence your decision in
pursuing your course?

Kate meets an architect to go over the remodeling ideas for a home she
wants to purchase. Her attention is drawn to a drawing of the lake house on the
wall of the conference room. When Henry Wyler reveals that his brother, Alex, was
the artist, Kate realizes that this is the Alex she had been corresponding with.

In that scene, I learned that even a setting or a house might remind you of
someone precious to you. Building infrastructure is more than just constructing it;
you are constructing something that will provide people with many memories, and I
want to be that architect. Creating a space for people to remember

3. Conclusion:
What lessons did you learn from the movie and how will you apply this to your
time as a professional?
The film taught me that architecture is much more than art, and it is far more
than just buildings; it is where people work and live. For me, architecture is an art,
and it is an art that everyone deserves to enjoy since it is the lifeblood of our
inhabited areas.
If I ever become a successful architect, I plan to use this knowledge in the
construction of buildings, particularly houses. I will follow talent rather than
money. Architecture is more than just art, yet it is art that everyone deserves.
Soon, I'll constantly gaze at what's in front of me, rating structures based on what I
see rather than what the architect intended.
