STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

INTRODUCTION
I, Kavneet Kaur Bindra holding passport number – U5953281 hailing from
New Delhi in India would like to present my application for study permit to
pursue Graduate Certificate in Public Administration in the upcoming
September intake at Humber College Lakeshore Campus. It is a 3-semester
long course. It is scheduled to commence on September 05, 2032, and
conclude on August 2024. I have already received an acceptance letter for this
course on 21 February 2023. I have also appeared for my IELTS exam and
procured an overall 7.0. I am a competent and cooperative person who, if
given a chance, will be able to maximize my educational experience and
transition my aspirations and goals into reality.

ACADEMIC AND PROFFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

My academics was not just confined to four walls of the classroom, but it also
included co-curriculum, practical learning and skill development. I attended
Birla Vidya Niketan, New Delhi for my secondary and senior secondary
education under Central Board of Secondary Education. I secured a CGPA of
in my class X in 2017 and % in Humanities Stream in class XII in 2019.Post
that I further enrolled for my bachelor's in political science from Mata Sundari
college affiliated to University of Delhi. This course helped me get acquainted
with public policy and administration, international relations, global politics
etc. I took an active part in my college societies and to broaden my skill set
further I undertook a few internships. I completed my graduation earlier this
year and secured CGPA (First Division).

Soon after my graduation I decided to expand and diversify my academic

portfolio by enrolling myself for French classes. I completed my A1.1 AND
A1.2 level from Alliance Francaise, New Delhi. I chose to study French because
it is one of the ten most spoken language also because it is fun to learn, it is a
working language of United Nations, and it provides an advantage on the
international job market. Along with this I continued to work on improving
my communication, listening and socializing skills that will help me in the long
run.

FAMILY AND FINANCIAL ESTABLISHEMENT

I was born and raised in a traditional Indian family of 4 members. My parents
are very hardworking and supportive and encouraging of my decision to
pursue my post-graduation in Canada. My father is self-employed and deals in
the sale and purchase of new and old cars whereas my mother is a teacher at
Mothers Pride School. I have been able to fund my education with the help of
an education loan and my parents financial support and cooperation. Our
annual family income is INR and assets worth INR which would be
sufficient to cover my expenses if necessary. Furthermore, I have already paid
my one-year tuition fees of CAD 27072 and deposited GIC of CAD 10000 to the
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).

WHY GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN PUBLIC ADMINSTRATION AT

HUMBER COLLEGE?
When I was about to complete my graduation, I started looking for courses
related to public policy and administration in India but was unable to find any
college or university that provide updated methodologies and practical
knowledge alongside the course. Therefore, I started searching for colleges
and universities outside of India that had the course that I wanted to further
study in. Since I wanted the course to include practical knowledge which is a
significant factor which would give me exposure of the work field which will
further raise my potential to seek my dream job in my homeland.

Following detailed research, I stumbled upon Graduate Certificate in Public

Administration offered by Humber College, one of Canada’s premier institutes.
Humber’s Public Administration graduate certificate program is the first of its
kind in Canada providing all of the knowledge, skills and experience graduates
need to become successful public service employees. Designed and taught by

quickly in a public sector job. It provides advanced training in
communications, policy analysis, project management, information
technology, public finance, governance, leadership and human resources
management. The practical, skills-based curriculum provides the foundation
for long-term career success by exposing one to the primary activities of
public administration and by providing networking opportunities with civil
servants from across the sector. This course also includes a co-op program
which was one of the main reasons to choose this program for my post-
graduation. This program will help me utilize my theoretical knowledge that I
will attain from this course in a practical setting.

Even though Canada is a home to many reputed universities offering great

courses I chose Humber College because it has an experienced faculty, most of
whom currently work in the public sector, who will guide me through the core
of the curriculum. Humber College is a suitable academic institute for
international students from different academic backgrounds. Humber College
has a lot to offer in terms of quality of education, location, work opportunities,
and on-campus facilities. Humber has a reputation for being one of Canada’s
most diverse, comprehensive, and exciting colleges a leader in postsecondary
education also Humber education helps you go from classroom to career,
gaining real-world experience along the way. Humber also organizes events
and programs that will help me connect with people from all around the globe
and give me insights on different outlooks that come with it.

WHY CANADA?
Every year, Canada welcomes hundreds of thousands of international
students from around the globe. Canada is known for offering high quality
education and research opportunities. In fact, when it comes to quality of life,
it is ranked first in the world. The great level of education is one of the most
important reasons why I chose to study in Canada. A student's degree from a
Canadian university serves as a symbol of trust and excellence and is highly
valued throughout the world. The benefits of studying in Canada for
international students is affordable tuition fees and low cost of living as
compared to other countries. Canada also provides a safe and stimulating
environment for international students. The country’s multicultural
environment and friendly people make it an ideal place for aspiring
international students like me to comfortably live in a new place. Co-op work
is a notable system in Canada that allows student to work in their relative field
while studying. Fortunately, the curriculum offered at my university includes
co-op which is very beneficial as it prepares and exposes students for
professional life. I've also found that Canadians are very friendly and polite
which makes Canada an open and safe country with ethnic diversity.

Future Goals
A plethora of opportunities can be traced in India when it comes to public
policy and administration related jobs. A lot more employment opportunities
have opened up for eligible and capable graduates. Upon completion of my
education in Canada I intent to use my exposure and experience acquired and
aim for a superior position in a public sector job. Because of my international
education I will be well versed in policy analysis, project management, public
finance, governance, leadership and human resources management. The
international exposure along with experience gained in Canada will
undoubtedly give me an advantage over other job seekers in India.
Since my entire family resides and is well settled in India, I feel it is my
responsibility to return to my India to look after my parents as they age as I
am there only child. I want to support my parents in their retirement.
However, if the opportunity allowing me to continue my higher education is
offered to me, I will cherish it and make every attempt to prove myself as a
proud advocate of Humber college and Canada. Ultimately, I aspire to be a
dynamic and diligent professional in India

would be adequate to cover both my living expenses and tuition fees during
