The most tricky thing in Writing Task 1

is figuring out how to ORGANISE the

information you write.

MAPS are tough, because there

is a lot to talk about. It can be really
tough
to know what to write and how to
organise
the information…
In this example, we will look at a MAP
from
Cambridge 12 and see how we can write
Task 1
APPROPRIATELY.

WRITING TASK 1
ORGANISING INFORMATION.
First, we need to identify what
DATA is
SIGNIFICANT.
The overview in a map question can be
very tricky, because there is so
much to describe… For this reason we
to identify the BIGGEST change and write
about the other changes very GENERALLY.

Note that I choose the ROAD as the

BIGGEST change, because it is ONE
THING that significantly develops.
The HOUSING AND FACILITIES are
lots of SMALL changes and would
be very difficult to summarise in
an overview!
