Part 4
What is DDC?
WHAT IS DDC?

o Direct Digital Control of an HVAC system

o A method of monitoring and controlling

HVAC system performance by collecting,
processing, and sending information using
sensors, actuators, and microprocessors
WHAT IS A POINT?

o A point is ANY input or output

device used to monitor and
control the overall or specific
performance of equipment
FOUR KINDS OF POINTS

AI Analog input - a sensor that monitors physical variable data

BI Binary input - a sensor that monitors status; ON/OFF

AO Analog output - a physical action of a proportional device in the

controlled equipment

BO Binary output - changes or maintains device status; ON/OFF
