Walton BD

1. Background Information of Walton:

Walton Group of Industries was founded by S.M Nurul Alam Rezvi in 1977 as a trading
company. Over the next three decades the group diversified into steel, textiles,
electronics and automobiles. Walton entered into the steel industry in late 1970s and
the electronics and automobiles in early 2000s; these areas would drive its subsequent
growth. Since the 2000s Walton has expanded towards electronics and automobiles
and these became its most important sources of income.
Walton is one of the highest taxpayers in Bangladesh and has a strong impact on the
country's economy. Walton is the one of the largest companies of Bangladesh. It is the
largest manufacturer of household refrigerator having maximum market share in
Bangladesh. Walton received the Best Taxpayer Award at the 2015 Dhaka International
Trade Fair (DITF) for the seventh time. It was awarded for its export revenues. Walton
received awards at the 2013 Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF), including one for
paying the most taxes.
On 5 October 2017, Walton inaugurated the country's first
ever smartphone and tablet manufacturing plant named "Walton Digi-Tech Industries".
"Made in Bangladesh" labeled smartphones made by Walton arrived at market in
January, 2018.
Walton group of industries products are Television, refrigerator, air conditioner, air
cooler, fan, washing machine, mobile phone, smart phone, desktop, laptop and more
various electronic products. But among the gadgets, the mobile phones and laptops of
WALTON are more famous and have a better quality.

2. Walton’s Vision & Mission:

Vision:
Their vision is to become an influential global brand within 2020 and working to
reach as one of the World’s top 5 brands within 2030 in the sector of electrical and
electronics.
Mission:
Walton’s mission is to ensure quality products to its customers as a proud “Made in
Bangladesh” brand.

3. Walton’s Goals and Objectives:

Goals:
Walton has a goal to double overall market share in the next 5 years. It has
successfully positioned itself as a customer friendly and Eco-friendly company.
It’s after sales service has contributed tremendously in building this image in
customers’ minds. Walton is one of the leading companies, focusing on the area
of electronics in Bangladesh. It is dedicated to creating and delivering products of
unquestionable quality that enable people to enjoy more entertainment and
comfort.
Objectives:
 Incorporating theoretical education with practical experience.
 Gaining knowledge about the current market trend of the country.
 Getting acquainted with different policies, rules and regulations of the
government on the products concerned.

4. Computer Hardware:

The computer hardware can be defined as-

 The physical equipment and components which one can see, touch and feel
in the computer system are called computer hardware.
 Hardware is the one that is tangible.
 It is the collection of physical elements that constitute a computer system.
 Computer hardware refers to the physical parts or components of a computer.
Computer hardware includes Input device and Output device.
Input device: It is device which accepts instructions and data in a form understandable
to human beings, converts it into machine readable form and transmit to the memory
unit of the computer.
The input devices include- Keyboard, Mouse, Joysticks, MICR, OCR, OMR, and Light
Pen.

Output device: Output device provides the final result after programs being executed
and results being computed in readable form and it translates processed data from a
machine coded form to a form that can be read and used by people.
The output devices include-
Monitor, Printer, Impact Printer, Non-impact Printer, Plotter, and Speaker etc.

Lists of hardware used by Walton:

The company uses many hardware in their office and in stores. And the best thing is to
mention is that they use their own hardware.
In official work, they use their own keyboard, mouse, monitor, they also use scanner,
OCR and printer to manage their business plans and other works to run their business.
In the store, they use Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, light pen, scanner, printer, speaker
and more hardware for processing the billings for the customers and check or manage
for availability of products.

5. Is it beneficial for Walton using the hardware?

The company itself have their own hardware like monitor, mouse and keyboard etc. so it
doesn’t cost them too much to use hardware whenever they need a new one because
they can replace one by themselves which can save their money. And in this modern
era of the technology they need the hardware to take care of their business and
management for information and promotion and other official works. The hardware
Walton use are beneficial for them because they don’t have to some hardware from
other brands which can save their costs.

6. Things that can be done by the company based on the

benefits of using their hardware:

The company already use the updated hardware but for more benefit they need to make
those hardware which they don’t have so that it will benefit them in markets and for their
own management. And they can be the only Bangladeshi company for having various
hardware.

7. Conclusion:

The company has been running its business with good reputation since 1977. In
Bangladesh is a milestone in the path of success and reputation of the brand WALTON.
For Bangladesh, Walton has become a company to be proud of in the export arena.
Walton has truly redefined Bangladesh from being a consumer country to a producer
country for home appliances.
