Course Offering Information
Assignment policies will be set by each instructor.
• All assignments will have a due date.
• Late assignments will be accepted up to three calendar days after the due
date but will lose 10% of the mark value per day. After three calendar days
late assignments will not be accepted. Exceptions may be considered with
proper documentation. Note: not following assignment/rubric instructions
is not considered an exception and re-submissions will not be accepted.
• The instructor reserves the right to reject any assignment that is handed in
late.
Correct grammar, spelling, and word usage are expected in all assignments and evaluative
activities. Marks will be deducted for errors. Further, assignments must have their research
resources cited using the American Psychological Association (APA) citation style. Failure to
adhere to this requirement will qualify as ‘academic dishonesty’ and consequences will be
administered in accordance with the Academic Honesty Policy (#500-1-7). For more
information on APA citation, please visit the website at
http://bowvalleycollege.libguides.com/citation.
Examination dates are communicated to all students at the start of each semester, and all
students are expected to write their examinations at the scheduled time. An examination
may refer to a quiz, midterm or final exam. Your instructor will review this course schedule
with you. Each student is responsible for checking the Course Offering Information and the
Final Exam Schedule for this information. Final Exam Schedules can be found in the D2L
Program Page in a specific folder called Final Exams. For courses in the Chiu School of
Business, scheduled final exams are required in person or at an approved invigilation site.
Important: Quizzes are to be completed independently (on your own) without any additional
assistance from others or use of resources (textbook, D2L articles, internet searches). In
addition, when answering short answer or fill-in blank questions, your answers must be in
your own words and not taken directly from any resource including curriculum material,
textbooks, or internet.
Learners may request an exam deferral only if there is documentable evidence to support
the claim that they are unable to attend the scheduled exam through no fault of their own.
The request must be made directly to the Program Chair prior to the commencement of the
exam. All applicable documentation must be provided to the Program Chair within 48 hours
of the request for deferral.
The documentation must indicate when you are ready to resume your studies.
The Program Chair may also accept other compelling reasons that are outside of a learner’s

control. In all instances the request must be accompanied by verifiable documentation. A
request for deferral of an exam may be made after the exam has started only in exceptional
circumstances.
Learners who have two final examinations scheduled at the same time on the same day
must request an exam deferral for one of the exams.
Learners who have more than two exams scheduled in the same day (even if there is not a
time conflict) may request an exam deferral for one of the exams.
To protect the integrity of exams, all exams will be retained and archived by the Chiu
School of Business. Instructors will advise learners regarding feedback methods for exams.
Final Exam Schedule and Exam Writing Procedures: Consult the D2L Program Page
in the folder called Final Exams and refer to the Chiu School of Business Learner Handbook
for exam writing procedures.
