Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were significant
upward trends in the number of travelers of three airport over the
period in question. Moreover, the number of travelers of Gatwick
was the most popular in 1998 and last until 2003.
Looking at the detail, as regards Heathrow, the number of visitors
started at 27,2 millions in 1998 and there was a dramatic rise over
three years, at which point it levelled off at just 48,2 millions until
2000. Then the figure decreased slightly from 2000 to 2002 and
went up in 2003. Having remained stable, the number of travelers of
Gatwick airport saw a sharp growth over six years. If we look at the
number of visitors of Stansted, the trend was similar. The figure
went up steeply between 1998 and 2001. A fluctuation was seen in
the number of visitors of Stansted over three years.
