lf the unfltered vibration lev6l of the machins oxceeds the unfiltered limrt in Figure 76 the modutalion of
th6 unfllered vibralion at twice elecfical line frequency csn b€ examined following the proceduao in
7.8.5.2 to delermine iI the machine is accsptable.
Mechanic€l vibration at a lrequenc, equal lo twice the ol€ctricat tane frequency is produced by the
msgnetic feld within the airgap of two-pole thre6-phas6 AC indudion machines. The magnitude oi thas
twica eledrical lin€ froquency vibration can modulate al a lEte equal to the slip frequenA of the rotor
multiplied by ths number of potes. This modutatjon can have an advelse etred on th€ pro*r evalualion
of lhe level of vibretion in lhe machane when ur{ilterod moasurements are taken. To evalusie the sied of
this modulalion it is generally n€cessary to monitor th6 unfiltered vibrataon of lh6 madtine during s
clmplete slip cyde (i.e., th6 {me requir6d for one aevolution at th€ slip Irequ6ncy). AC induction
machines running et a very low slip value at no load may requiro 10 minules or longer for such
moasorements to be completed at eaci vibration measuring position.

lf tho filtor€d twice elodricsl lin6 fr€qu€nc1 component of the vibration of the machane do€s not excoed 90
