India's Next
Leap in Lunar
Exploration
Introduction
Chandrayaan 3 is India's third lunar
mission, following the successful
Chandrayaan 1 and Chandrayaan 2.
The mission aims to further explore the
lunar surface and gather scientific data.
Objectives
The objectives of Chandrayaan 3
include studying the lunar surface,
mapping the moon's resources, and
conducting experiments to
understand the moon's origin and
evolution. The mission will also test
new technologies and instruments.
Launch and Landing
The launch of Chandrayaan 3 is
expected to take place in late 2022
or early 2023. The mission will use
the GSLV Mk III launch vehicle and
will land near the Lunar South
Pole. The landing site has not yet
been finalized.
Orbiter
The Chandrayaan 3 orbiter will be
equipped with instruments to study the
lunar surface, including a high-
resolution camera, a spectrometer, and
a radar. The orbiter will also serve as a
communication link between the
lander and Earth.
Lander
The Chandrayaan 3 lander will carry a
rover to explore the lunar surface. The
rover will be equipped with
instruments to study the lunar surface,
including a spectrometer and a
seismometer. The lander will also carry
a drill to collect samples.
Rover
The Chandrayaan 3 rover will be
equipped with six wheels and will
be able to travel up to 500 meters
on the lunar surface. The rover will
be controlled from Earth and will
conduct experiments to study the
lunar surface and environment.
