Respected Sir,

Most respectfully, it is submitted that I have been appointed as Assistant Private

Secretary (BPS-16) on recommendations of Federal Public Service Commission through proper
channel in the Ministry of Law and Justice, Islamabad subsequently posted at Customs Appellate
Tribunal, Bench-III, Karachi. I was relieved from my parent department i.e. Finance Division,
Islamabad and assumed the charge of APS in this Tribunal but I was not granted TA/DA in this
Tribunal nor from my parent department. Therefore, I prefer to refer The FR&SR Volume-I
(Section-II-Supplementary Rules), Page No.381, Travelling Allowance Rules, Section-X,
Journey of a Newly-Appointed Government Servant to Join His First Post, regarding the claim of
travelling and daily allowance from Islamabad to Karachi as per TA/DA Rules mentioned in
S.R.105. General Rule is reproduced as under:-
“S.R.105. General Rule. - Except as otherwise provided in this section,
travelling allowance is not admissible to any person for the journey to join his
first post in Government Service”.

In the light of above rule, it is clarified that the TA/DA is admissible to the
employees on their second appointment in Government Service, Hence, you are requested to
kindly forward my application to concerned section for further necessary action/approval for
grant of TA/DA from Islamabad to Karachi on basis of my second appointment.
