Leadership and Influencing essay:

- In my career as a passionate pharmacist with a focus on public health, I have

made a significant impact on Sudan's healthcare system through working
with hospitals, initiatives, and governmental and non-governmental
organizations.
- Recognizing the lack of awareness and resources for mental health support at
my university, I took the initiative to establish the National University
Mental Health Club during my third year. Through organizing events and
activities, I aimed to provide students with access to information and
resources to improve their mental well-being. The club successfully
conducted panel discussions with mental health specialists, reaching over
1600 students. Additionally, the "You Matter" mental health exhibition
attracted approximately 2,200 visitors, raising awareness and showcasing
available resources. These efforts led to increased awareness among
students, faculty, and administrators, prompting the university to prioritize
mental health support. The success of the exhibition highlighted the need for
enhanced mental health resources and services within the university.

- In response to the vulnerabilities faced by marginalized communities during

the pandemic, I launched The PA11 initiative in 2020. Recognizing their
limited access to health information and resources, my primary focus was to
address their educational and supply needs. Through various strategies, I
distributed educational flyers and posters containing essential COVID-19
information to commercial markets, reaching diverse populations. Public
speeches were delivered to dispel myths and promote preventive measures
within the community. To address the resource gap, I collaborated with
pharmacists to manufacture and distribute 200 liters of hand sanitizers to
vulnerable families. The PA11 initiative successfully raised awareness,
providing valuable health resources to marginalized communities. The
distribution of instructional materials and hand sanitizers played a crucial
role in enhancing hygiene practices and addressing resource disparities. By
empowering individuals with knowledge and essential supplies, the initiative
made a significant positive impact on the well-being of marginalized
communities during the pandemic.

- As a Health Projects Officer at Sadagaat organization, I spearheaded a

successful breast cancer advocacy campaign during Breast Cancer
Awareness Month. The initiative aimed to raise awareness, promote early
detection, and improve healthcare outcomes in the Sudanese community.
With a dedicated team and collaboration with local healthcare providers and
the Federal Ministry of Health, we organized impactful events like
awareness walks, educational seminars, and free screening camps.
Leveraging social media platforms, we disseminated information and shared
survivor stories to engage the community. The campaign yielded exceptional
results, with increased event attendance and participation. Over 4,190
women received free screenings, and more than 8,000 individuals benefited
from our advocacy efforts on social media. Through these efforts, we
facilitated early detection and timely treatment for numerous cases,
significantly impacting breast cancer prevention and care. This experience
demonstrated my influential leadership skills, adaptability, and commitment
to public health. It reinforced the value of strategic timing and events in
amplifying health promotion efforts and driving positive change.
- So, Winning Chevening scholarship would significantly enhance my
leadership and influence journey in the public health field, providing
valuable opportunities for growth and development.
