I completed my undergraduate degree in Microbiology at Delta State University, Abraka,

graduating with second-class honours in 2022. My coursework encompassed a comprehensive
study of microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology, which provided me with a robust
foundation for my future endeavours in this field.

My interest in applied microbiology was ignited during my senior year when I undertook an
independent research project. This project delved into the "Prevalence of Microorganisms in
Vegetables Sold in Small Markets, Abraka, and Their Antimicrobial Resistance." It deepened my
appreciation for the critical role of microbiology in diagnosing, treating, and preventing
infectious diseases. This realization has been the driving force behind my desire to pursue a
Master's degree in this field.

What particularly draws me to Trinity College Dublin is its distinguished reputation as a centre
of excellence in microbiological research and its dedication to nurturing a vibrant academic
community. The opportunity to learn from renowned faculty members and engage in cutting-
edge research projects, such as the study of antibiotic resistance in bacteria concerning public
health, greatly appeals to me.

Upon completing the Master's program in Applied Microbiology at Trinity College Dublin, I
aspire to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector as a clinical microbiologist or
research scientist. I am eager to explore innovative diagnostic methods and antimicrobial
strategies to combat emerging infectious diseases.
