Fret your note as close to the fretwire as possible.

This stops string buzz or muting



It also takes less strength to fret the string this way

The sweet spot on your finger is the area on your fingertips which is the perfect spot for pressing
down on the string. You will know you are there when it feels like the pressure and angle of the
finger is just right.

This spot is different for each player, and can take time to find.

Practice, Practice, Practice and you will find that spot!!

Just to give you an extra chord this week, here is a familiar one to you. To give it its proper
name, it is Em.

Practice changing between G, C, D and Em.

Only use down strokes for now


HOMEWORK

PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!

1. Practice G, C, D and Em chords

2. Exercise your fingers so that they become more comfortable on the fretboard.

3. Try either of the first two songs, if you don’t know them, ask your parents to play them on
YouTube or iTunes/Spotify

4. ENJOY YOURSELF!!!!
