``Comb``
One of you has just bought a piece of land and you are planning to build a house on it. Write
down at least six people of different professions that you may need to help you.
Pupils get cards and pretend to be, for example, a bricklayer, a carpenter, a plumber, an
architect, an electrician, a painter. They tell what they do.
For example, I`m a bricklayer and I build the walls of the house.
First one member of the class chooses an occupation, which ever you decide. Then members of
the class try to discover what it is by asking questions which can be answered by "yes" or

For example, if the subject is "occupations" then the questions might be like these.
Do you work in the evenings?
Do you work alone?
Do you work outside?
Do you ever work overtime?
Do you have to attend a lot of meetings for your job?
Do you have to do a lot of paperwork?
Do you have to work on Sundays?
Can women do this job?
Do you think that the place where you work is well run?
Do you work on weekends?
Have you ever taken any courses that specifically help you with the job you are doing now?
Did you have to go to university to get it?
Is it a popular job?
Did you need any special training to get your job?
Is it an indoor job?
Is your job competitive?
Is it a job mainly for men?
Do you work in an office?
Is it prestigious?
Does your job pay a good salary? (Add more)
Pretend to be a boss of a big company and you need an employee. Role play a job interview

A bit of Humour
In the Dark
Two factory workers are talking. The woman says, “I can make the boss give me the
day off”
The man replies, “I don`t believe it “
The woman says, “Just wait and see.” She then hangs upside down from the ceiling.
The boss comes in and says, “What are you doing?”
The woman replies, “I`m a light bulb”
The boss says,”You have been working too hard - I think you`re going crasy. Take the
day off.”
She climbs down and leaves. The man starts to follow her, but the boss says, “And
where do you think you`re going?”
The man says, “I`m going home, too. I can`t work in the dark.”

What do you think you should keep in mind to make a good carrier?
Above all you must remember that getting a job takes time.
Here are a few things to think about and to also keep in mind:
You must work hard behind the scenes. It's not always about the show.
You must set goals for yourself, then tell yourself "I can."
You must work well with a team. There's no such thing as a "one-man-band."
