Future Laboratorians of Ontario (FLO) Ambassadors

The MLPAO is excited to launch its FLO initiative designed to increase awareness and
generate interest in Medical Laboratory Technology as a profession with high school
students across Ontario.

The MLPAO is looking for members from across Ontario to become FLO ambassadors who
will:
1. Deliver prepared presentations to high school students in their home district
2. Be a resource to guidance counsellors and students about the profession
3. Collaborate in the development of resources for high school students

We are seeking ambassadors from each of the MLPAO districts across Ontario. If you are
unsure which district you belong to, check out your location on the District Map.

This is a great opportunity for you to get involved and show your pride in the profession.

Requirements:
• Must be a current MLPAO MLT member
• Currently working as an MLT or have worked within the past 5 years

Time Commitment:
• Introductory meeting
• Review and preparation time for each presentation
• The ability to attend high school classes in person or by video conference depending
on location of meeting and school protocols
• The number of presentations required will be dependent upon the size of the school
board, their level of interest, and the number of ambassadors in each district

continuing education requirements will be issued.
