1. Give at least 6 uses of the internet.

• Research
The Internet plays an essential role in the field of research. It was challenging to find information
about anything before the Internet. To find the desired information, people had to sift through
hundreds of books for references. However, the Internet has made it much easier, and anyone can
find the necessary information with just a few mouse clicks. People can learn from successful
and unsuccessful research and work to make improvements. The use of the Internet in research
has been highly beneficial to researchers.

 Communication
Communication has become more accessible and more efficient as a result of the Internet. You
can communicate with anyone on the Internet by texting, calling, or video calling. It has opened
up new opportunities for people to collaborate. Numerous online chat software and websites can
assist people in organizing group discussions or meetings. It allows businesses to have a smooth
discussion. As a result, people are no longer required to travel long distances to attend meetings.
This allows people to avoid unnecessary travel and save time for more productive activities.
Furthermore, there are many cloud-based software and websites that allow people to work on the
same project at the same time. Using the Internet, people from all over the world can easily
connect and support their specialties.

 File Transfer
The Internet has simplified file transfer between systems or devices. Data can be securely
exchanged over the Internet using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). FTP is beneficial when large
files must be transferred because email only allows for the sharing of files of limited size. FTP is
the most efficient way for two stakeholders to exchange information. This method is still widely
used and popular.

 News
People have an insatiable thirst for up-to-the-minute information regarding events occurring
worldwide. They demand immediate information and want to be kept up to date daily.
They do not bother to wait for the morning newspaper or for the news to be carried on either
their television or their radio. As a result, individuals choose to visit news websites on the
internet and get their top daily news from those sites.

 Education
These days, most devices are linked together by utilizing the Internet. Internet users have access
to a vast library of instructional material covering a variety of subjects and presented in various
formats. People can learn about the topic by devoting a few minutes to researching it on the
internet. People can rapidly access suitable study material in various formats with the assistance
of search engines on the internet (such as images, videos, documents, etc.). This helps eliminate
the need to go to the library and read multiple books to find the information sought.
Students are now able to participate in their classes through the use of video conferencing, thanks
to the widespread availability of the Internet. This allows students to connect with their
instructors or professionals worldwide.

 Entertainment
The most efficient way to enjoy oneself nowadays is through the Internet. People can experiment
with various possibilities that are made available on the Internet, such as watching movies,
participating in online games, listening to music, and other activities. People are also finding it
much simpler to download various forms of entertainment onto their local storage devices
because of the Internet's proliferation. People can upload their videos, songs, and photographs to
share with others via the internet. Additionally, individuals may now watch live TV and sporting
events online.
