Writing objectives from competencies.

Let’s summarize

Topic: What must a teacher do to determine the student’s skills and abilities that are
needed to begin instruction? Post your answer on the discussion thread.

What have you learned?

Answer the following assessment situations, what type of assessment would you

recommend, and why?

1. You want to determine whether the students possess the knowledge and skills needed
to begin the planned instruction.

A good assessment in this situation would be a small test that contains basic
questions about the planned instruction, and use that as a basis of whether or not the
students possess the knowledge and skills needed.

2. You want to provide continuous feedback to students about their learning successes
and failures.

A good assessment in this situation would be having a weekly review of their

recorded grades, and give an objective feedback on what the students should improve on.
