7.1.1 Concerning Errors and Malfunctions 1.0

 Outline
This chapter describes the troubleshooting for Kebab L system.

 Rough Identification of the Source of the Trouble

At the beginning of troubleshooting, it is necessary to identify roughly which functions the trouble relates to.

1
Problems can be roughly classified into those that relate to the Kebab L system itself, those that relate to the printer
itself and those that involve the connection between the printer and the host computer.

 Problems with the printer itself

Remove the kebab L system. Once removed, it can be diagnosed using an ordinary suction table or similar, via the
functional and testing functions.
 Problems with the Kebab L system printer itself
2
Can be diagnosed via testing using the printer body.
 Problems concerning the connection to the host computer
Hardware: Broken wire or faulty contact of cables

3
Software: Transmission by improper application setting

7.1.1 Concerning Errors and Malfunctions 1.0

 Checking Procedures
This section describes troubleshooting procedures for the problems for which error messages are displayed.

1:Identifying the error category

The causes of errors can be classified into the following categories:

 Handling error / Trouble on the printer side 1
 Handling error / Trouble on the host computer side
 Trouble with the Interface Cable
 Printer / Kebab system hardware trouble

2
 Printer / Kebab system firmware trouble

2:Initial action

Refer to the error message, and judge whether the trouble lies on the host computer side, on the printer side or on
the Kebab L system side.
 Has any of the interface conditions (printer model setting, command, communication conditions, etc.) been
changed?
3
 Does the trouble occur under specific conditions?

 Does the same trouble occur repeatedly?

4
3:Failure on the printer side

Refer to Maintenance manual for the printer, and take steps to repair the printer.

4:Failure on the Kebab L system side 5

Error occurrence causes can be broadly divided into the following items.
 Uploading and checking of parameters

6
 Reinstalling of firmware

 Checking of FFC and cable connections

 Replace the defective part (sensor, etc.) or make the necessary adjustment.

 Replace the PCBs.

7
5:Repair at the factory

If the error recurs even after the corrective measures specified here are taken, return the printer to the factory of
MIMAKI for repair.
