1. Attempt FIVE questions in all – 2 questions from Part-I & 3 questions from Part-II.
2. All questions carry equal marks i.e. 20 marks each.
3. All answers must be written in English only.
4. Illustrate your answers with appropriate examples.
5. This paper contains 1 page having 8 questions.

PART – I (Attempt any TWO)

Q.1. Housing, like all other consumer goods, is also affected by demand and supply. Justify the statement with
relevant examples and with reference to the factors that determine the demand and supply.

Q.2. Enlist and discuss the different surveys that are necessary to be conducted before forming any housing
strategies or policies.

Q.3. Explain the different housing typologies and highlight the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

PART – II (Attempt any THREE)

Q.4. Discuss the effectiveness of the Neighborhood Concept in India, with the example of any modern Indian city.

Q.5. Comment on the salient features of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Q.6. Describe the factors that affect the cost of housing in any major city.

Q.7. Discuss the problem of slums in a metropolis. What are the strategies that have been adopted in the Five Year
Plans for slum intervention?

Q.8. Write an essay on the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the housing sector with special emphasis on the
Work-From-Home protocol.
