6.3 Network Configuration for the PC

To connect the product to the PC, you need to set the IP address with TCP/IP Property for LAN adapter to be
used. In general, the IP address of the PC is set to automatic acquisition from the DHCP server. Set the IP
address and subnet mask as shown in the example below.

Example: When the network to which the product is connected is 192.168.8.0/24

(Be sure to use the IP address not existing on the network.)
IP Address 192.168.8.254
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

(Reference) Network setting of the product (Default value)

IP Address 192.168.8.8
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Port Number 8888

◼ If you are connecting more than one monitor to the same network, be sure to set a unique IP
address for each one of them to eliminate overlap with individual IP addresses.

◼ Do not turn off the monitor or disconnect the communication cable while the communication
between the monitor and Device Config is in progress.
Otherwise, it may prevent the changes made in Device Config from being reflected in the monitor.

28
VM-25 Installation Guide Chapter 6 Device Config Setup

6.4 Connecting Network Cable

To connect the product to the PC, connect the product to the PC with an Ethernet cable as shown in the figure
below.
Use an Ethernet cable conforming to 100BASE-TX Category 5 or higher.
For additional use of a repeater or optical converter, refer to the respective product manuals to connect it.

Ethernet 100 Base-TX

◼ Use a LAN cable with a length of 100 m or shorter. Using a cable longer than 100 m may cause
the signals unstable.
If you need to relay longer than 100 m, be sure to take some measures such as using power-
supply HUB.

◼ The LAN cable should be laid down with enough space for other power and control lines.

◼ Make sure that there are no foreign objects in the communicton connector before connecting. If the
communication connector has any foreign object in it, it may cause a bad connection and so on.

◼ IP address of each module must set for it not to overlap beforehand when you connect two or more
monitors on the same network. Please set the IP address according to the network administrator's
instruction. That may have an effect on other networks.

6.5 Uninstalling Device Config

When uninstalling Device Config, select [Settings] from the [Start] menu and bring up [Control Panel]. Then,
select [Add or Remove Programs] to remove Device Config.

1 From the [Start] menu, click [Settings] and select [Control Panel].

2 In the Control Panel, click [Add or Remove Programs].

Chapter 7 Maintenance and Service

7.1 Regular Inspection
It is recommended to carry out the adjustment once a year in order to secure the product performance and the
machine safety.

If Compliance with the non-incendive (/NBA) is Required

If compliance with the non-incendive is required for using the product, following conditions must be satisfied as
well as the conditions above.

• The cover of enclosure can only be open while potentially explosive atmosphere is shown to be absent, or
when located in non-hazardous area.
• EN/IEC 60079-17 must be observed for inspection of the product.
• In locations where, high external humidity and internal temperature variations (e.g. frequent on-off cycles)
may cause condensation inside the equipment, the interior should be periodically inspected.

7.2 Product Lifetime

The product is recommended to be replaced once every 10 years at a normal temperature (approx. 25°C) even if
no abnormality exists. Be careful that the higher the service temperature, the shorter the product lifetime.

Point

The product may be deteriorated earlier than 10 years as the degree of deterioration is greatly dependent on the
surrounding environment. Ten years as a rough guide, it is preferable to replace the product at an earlier stage so
that the stability of the system can be ensured.

7.3 Cleaning
To wipe off contamination, use a dry cloth.
Do not use chemicals such as benzine or thinner.
