BACKGROUND
Madziwa ward 16 is made up of 6 villages. The college community is one of the villages. The Govt. of
Zimbabwe wants to donate food items to the ward. The councillor is requested to give statistics of the
population in the ward. The councillor does not have an idea of the number of people in the ward. Your
learners should carry out a sample survey on population statistics in one of the villages order to come up
with an estimated population of ward 16 which they should then upraise the councillor.

CALA DESCRIPTION
This CALA has a total of 40 marks. It consists of parts A and B. You are required to respond to all parts.

OBJECTIVES TO BE ACHIEVED
The learners should be able to:
(i). Design a questionnaire that they will use to carry out the survey.
(ii). Carry out a survey by interviewing people in one of the villages to establish the village population.
(iii).Present the data collected in Part A in a tabular form.
(iv).Use the data collected in Part A to come up with the estimated ward population and prepare a
summary table using the format shown below:

ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE
Assessment will be based on evidence of the following:-
 Designing of a survey questionnaire. (10)
 Interviewing of people in all households in one of the villages. (10)
 Compilation and presentation of village population data in a tabular form. (10)
 Compilation of the general distribution of the estimated ward population in a tabula form. (10)
