resilient and sustainable.
DESIGN
CHALLENGE
A world Expo is an event that brings together
people and innovations from around the world in
an effort to address issues facing mankind on a
global scale.

the Osaka Expo 1970, Japan's and Asia's first


ever expo, symbolized Japan's rapid economic
growth and was one of the country's most
lauded events.

Twenty years after the Aichi 2005, Expo 2025


Osaka, Kansai will bring the international
community back to Japan.

Design Problem
To create a distinctively Filipino design for the
Pavilion.

Project Objectives
1. Follow the given standards set by Osaka
2025 committee.
2. Incorporate the theme of Haligi 7
3. Show the principles of Bamboo Architecture

building with bamboo is that it
is a wonderful, natural and
renewable resource, capable
of rapid growth that can avoid
future deforestation of our
precious tropical rainforests.

DESIGN CRITERIA
Design Excellence & Architectural Planning - 50%
The design must be visually appealing while adhering to the
contest theme and guidelines.

Design Sustainability - 20%


Aside from visual appeal, the structures have to be carefully
planned for a greener and sustainable environment

Innovativeness - 30%
Unique in and out of the box ideas incorporated on the
design/facilities that promoted culture of the location chosen.

DESIGN GUIDELINES
SPACE REQUIREMENTS
Spaces are to be determined according to the chosen theme or
concept of the pavilion. Students shall have the freedom to
choose the spaces provided that they could justify the relation to
the said theme or concept.

SUBMISSION
Must be manually drawn and mixed media rendering is allowed.
Using a 30x40in board as the canvass and only 1 (one) board is
allowed.

A 1:400mts scale model must be mounted on 8.5x11x1in thick


board.
