    QUESTION 1

    Use the drawing above to:

    a) Briefly discuss the steps that you would follow to create a BOQ for the above project.

    b) Create a query sheet.

    c) Take off the quantities for the floor finish (consisting of the tiles and the backgrounds to all
    areas). Illustrate the following in your take off:-
    i) Timesing
    ii) Use of Ampersand
    iii) Bracketing Dimensions
    iv) Squaring

    Descriptions

    Tiles: 300x300x10mm thick ceramic floor tiles; bedded and pointed with grout; laid to a c/s
    backing (m/s); in a hexagonal pattern

    Backing: 35 mm thick c/s backing; mix (1:4) laid onto a concrete base to receive ceramic tiles
