MODELLING
5Rs Techniques

 Reduce means to lessen the amount of waste in the environment. This can be
done by using less materials that are readily disposable either biodegradable or
nonbiodegradable.
Example: saving packaging, colored paper and other items for arts, and crafts
projects.
 Reuse means to use again or find other ways to usa a material.
Example: Using old hand-me-down clothes.
 Recycle means to create a new product using a material that has already served
its purpose.
Example: Making old papers into paper charcoal.
 Recovering means taking energy or materials from waste to be converted into
new resources.
Example: Making animal manure into fertilizer for plants.
 Repair means fix slightly broken things to make them useful again.
Example: Repainting tables and chairs.
