Romania has a rich history of competing in sports. It must be our competitive

spirit, the native ambition, and hard-working nature, or maybe just pure talent.
Either way, the athletes of Romania left their mark on just about every sport. It
is my pleasure to enthusiastically recommend Simona Halep for the title of
Sports Personality of the Year.
Halep is the only active sports superstar we have, so a lot of emotions runs
through our veins whenever she’s playing a big match. If we are to talk about
her accomplishments, we must mention her constantly improved game, being
one of the most popular WTA players, and winning some big WTA titles. By far,
her most impressive performance was that of becoming the first female tennis
player in Romania to make it to no 1, in 2017.
I believe that Simona Halep would be an excellent winner of the title of Sports
Personality of the Year possessing various qualities necessary for such a winner:
She is very strong, obviously, and can withstand any opponent, ambitious,
intelligent, and fast, and various skills that she used to deliver fantastic results.
Her Wimbledon final performance against Serena Williams was one of the best
performances of her career.
I strongly recommend Simona Halep for the title of Sports Personality of the
Year, the Romanian only managed to have such performances in this sport
through hard work. Tennis is also the sport of total balance, and many coaches
see in Simona Halep that balance that a great player needs.
