Nigerian Dental Association has charged the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to work towards the
implementation of the National Oral Health Policy in Nigeria, saying that, At present, Nigeria has no oral
health policy as the existing one expired in two thousand and five.

Making the call in a congratulatory message to the president on his victory at the polls and his swearing-
in as the sixteenth President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the President of NDA, Dr Adeyemi Tope
applauded Tinubu’s victory at the polls and swearing-in as the nation’s President and Commander in
Chief of the Armed Forces.

He said the development is a testament to Tinubu’s hard work, due diligence, patriotism, compassion,
and strong and proven favourable disposition to work with all true progressives within and outside
Nigeria for a prosperous and united country.

New Nigeria Peoples Party has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure free,
fair, transparent and peaceful governorship polls in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states.

It expresses readiness to clinch Imo in the November poll and not allow intra-party squabbles to distract
it from winning the state.
During a press briefing in Abuja, National Publicity Secretary of NNPP, Dr. Agbo Major, stressed the need
for peace, unity and synergy in the party in Imo as they prepare for the crucial off-season election.

He further said the party’s National Working Committee directed aggrieved members, who suspended
the party chairman in Imo, Charles Duruimo, to retract their action, as the national leadership of the
party led by Alhaji Abba Kawu-Ali stepped into the matter to amicably resolve it.

Central Bank of Nigeria, has ordered banks to allow customers to have unfettered access to funds in
their domiciliary account.

Director, Corporate Communications, Department, CBN, Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, disclosed this in a press
statement, tiltled; Issues Further Guidance on Operational Changes to Foreign Exchange Market.

According to the CBN, domiciliary account holders are permitted to utilize cash deposits not exceeding
ten thousand dollars per day or its equivalent via telegraphic transfer.

Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, has given the Federal Government a hint on how to make
the planned new minimum wage meaningful.

NECA’s Director-General, Wale-Smatt Oyerinde, who said this in a statement, lamented that the socio-
economic realities in the country had over the years rendered the thirty thousand naira minimum wage
inadequate.

According to the body, government must stabilise the economy by refocusing the fiscal and monetary
policies to be pro-growth and address the challenge of multiplicity of taxes and levies.

National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, has expressed disappointment over the alleged refusal of the
Federal Capital Territory, Kaduna, Gombe and Jigawa States to allocate slots to intending pilgrims who
enrolled through the Hajj Saving Scheme.

Reacting to the development through a statement signed by its Deputy Director of Information and
Publications, Alhaji Mousa Ubandawaki, NAHCON, described the excuses of the states as baseless and
unfounded, while lamenting the inconveniences they have caused the category of intending pilgrims.

According to him, The FCT and affected states have attributed their actions to NAHCON and Jaiz Bank’s
purported failure to timely remit the funds to their respective Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards.

Comptroller-General of Nigerian Customs, Colonel Hameed Ibrahim Ali retired has said that the era of
favoratism and bypass of due process in the recruitment of officers has since been eliminated in the
Nigerian Customs Service.

Ali made this known while inspecting one thousand, three hundred and thirty Customs trainees at the
Goron-Dutse Customs Training College, Kano.

The Customs boss who declared that enlistment into the service under his stewardship was no longer
business as usual insisted the present recruit training were selected across the country having went
through due process.

Ali further warned the recruits to be loyal and obedient to the superiors, and emphasized the need to
avoid any action capable of incriminating their personality and that of the Service. He expressed
satisfaction on the level of commitment of the trainees since the commencement of the training.

State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Sani Mustapha has urged the newly
promoted officers of the Corps to brace up for the challenges that might come with their new ranks.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony of the newly promoted officers at the State command
headquarters in Gusau, the Commandant charged the officers to see their promotion as an act of God
and a call for higher service in the Corps.

He noted that the officers have been elevated to make the Corps proud and challenged the decorated
officers to be proactive and disciplined in all ramifications.

National Industrial Court has declared that the order restraining the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade
Union Congress from embarking on their planned industrial action subsists.
In its ruling, Justice Olufunke Anuwe said the order as granted on June fifth subsists pending the hearing
and determination of the motion on notice.

The court, in addition, ordered that parties maintain the status quo and adjourned the matter until July
twenty, for a hearing.

Counsel to the Nigerian Government Ochum Emmanuel informed the court that the matter was slated
for Monday for the claimant to take its motion on notice for an interlocutory injunction to restrain the
defendants from embarking on strike.

Emmanuel added that he was ready to proceed with his application as the defendants had been served.

As the Federal Government and labour unions return to the negotiation table to resume talks over the
implementation framework of resolutions reached on June fifth, stakeholders have urged government
to be sincere and come up with something tangible that the organised labour can work with.

According to the stakeholders a new deal should capture both workers in the formal and informal
sectors of the economy, as well as other citizens not engaged in the nation’s workforce.

Stakeholders Noted that the atmosphere is already charged and filled with tension, they argued that the
government should be magnanimous in ensuring an agreement that is substantial enough to cushion the
effect of petrol subsidy removal.

Police in Delta State have uncovered a factory where vehicles are disassembled and parts sold to
unsuspecting members of the public in the Ughelli area of the state.

Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said their arrest followed series of
reported cases of vehicles removed from parking areas in Asaba, Warri, Ughelli and environs.

Journalists learnt that the Police uncovered the factory on June fifteen, twenty twenty three and
arrested two suspected vehicle snatchers, who attempted to run when they sited police operatives from
afar.

in business and energy sectors have highlighted long-term benefits of the policy.

The Experts, during an advocacy dialogue by Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria on the theme,
Fuel Subsidy Removal, Opportunities for Individual Businesses and the Way Forward, stated that the
challenges, which are short-term, should be viewed in the context of long-term gains.

It added that, The recent decision to eliminate petrol subsidy has caused a surge in prices, leading to
higher transportation cost and increase in cost of living for many Nigerians.

Barcelona has signed right-back Ona Batlle for their women’s team, with her Manchester United
contract expiring at the end of June.

According to catalan club, The twenty four year-old Catalan, who developed at Barcelona as a youth
player, has signed a deal until twenty twenty six.

Batlle, who helped Manchester United qualify for the women’s Champions League for the first time, will
compete with England international Lucy Bronze to start for Barcelona.

She played for three seasons in England, after joining Levante in 2020, making 77 appearances across all
competitions.

Batlle was one of three of the protesting Spanish women’s national team players to be called up by
coach Jorge Vilda ahead of the World Cup, on his 30-player long list.
