Agree- Reasons punish the criminals because they do bad to society and
damage society, awareness about the crime, and punishment can lead to self-
correction or realization, need to prevent other people from following this

Nowadays, there are a lot of criminals in modern society, and punishing
criminals serves several important purposes. Unfortunately, the crime rate is
reaching its peak day by day owing to a number of reasons such as
unemployment and the usual social evils persisting in everyday life. I strongly
agree with the statement that putting offenders behind bars is the better way
to make them pay for their sins. In this essay, I will support my opinion with
examples.
Firstly, imprisoning the wrongdoers makes them realize their mistakes as they
have to spend time behind bars and stay away from the society, they have been
in. For example, the police arrest criminals when they rob motorbikes or jewels
and punish them for following the law that makes them realize and prevents
serious situations that can endanger human life. So, that they can face
imprisonment that is going to give them a life lesson that they need to stay
away from unlawful acts.
Secondly, another benefit of putting offenders in jail is negating criminal acts.
Such as by setting an example for some young people who see a lot of criminals
face punishment from the government that makes them scared. They also do
research on the law when criminals break it and the consequences, they have
to face for the evil doings shape the minds of the young generation to abstain
from it. For example, some students are addicted to games such as gambling,
and when they don’t have money to play, they might start to rob people of
high-value things. When they see a wrongdoer doing time in jail, it can make an
impact on their minds and can tell them the difference between right and
wrong.
Although there are some people who believe that criminals should not be
imprisoned for evil, some other method should be adopted to give them a
lesson. I think that allowing wrongdoers to wander freely in their surroundings
is not good for themselves and society.
In conclusion, putting offenders in jail would be the appropriate punishment.
This form of punishment makes them realize their guilt which keeps society
safe and also prevents other people to stay away from wrong actions. I believe
that offenders must be sentenced to prison so that they get a lesson and
review their lives.
