SAFETY AND RISK REDUCTION SOP

School Safety and Security

Schools all over the world must secure students and all employees’ safety and well –
being. It is the school’s duty to protect all from any violence either emotional or physical
violence that can harm or put into danger the lives of all in the community. Based on studies,
students who suffer from this violence may result in poor academic performance in school.
Bullying and presence of gangs, fraternities, fighting with others students, sexual harassment
are some examples of this violence.
That is why, NSDGA East Rizal strives to ensure that the De Guians have a safe, peaceful
and orderly environment.
Having a well -constructed building, clean and safe surrounding, clean water to drink,
and kind and gentle people around are just some examples of how to carry-out this. Another
way to save and protect all especially its students from this violence and danger is by educating
them on the safety precautionary measures.

TIPS TO AVOID BULLYING

We have provided our learners some tips that they can use and keep in their minds in order to
protect themselves from bullying:

 Don’t walk alone. The presence of friends can send away prospective bullies.
 Have self -confidence in built and mind. People who are confident and have good
postures are far from being bullied.
 Report them to authorities. Report them to school officials like teachers, staff, the
principal, etc. for proper handling of the matter.
 Ignore Them. When you see bullies, do not fight back with them. Walk away to
avoid the bullies.

TIPS IN TIMES OF DISASTER

 DCH during Earthquake- observe the Drop, Cover, and Hold protocol
 Use of Fire Extinguisher/s in the event of fire
 SDR when caught by fire – Stop, Drop, and Roll
Safety and Security Services
The Safety and Security Committee is primarily responsible for the planning and
implementation of safety and security in the campus. Through our service provider, top priority
is given to supporting plans and policies through the execution and implementation of
appropriate plans and policies through execution and implementation of appropriate security
plans and measures. To provide total protection to all members and guests of the De Guian
community, we require the service provider to assign trained, licensed, and accredited security
personnel who are supervised by a Professional Detachment Supervisor. We guarantee
dedication and reliability from our security personnel through fair, functional and constructive
management.
In keeping with its dedication to the provision of total protection, the Safety and
Security Committee and its service provider regularly draw information regarding prevailing
security circumstances as well as analyses and forecasts of situation from its highly effective
and long tested resources. Established coordination with the local Police, Barangay Officials and
a Task Force Safe School Team, enables us to create measures and design plans to anticipate
and mitigate any type of security situation.
The Security Office of NSDGA East Rizal is always ready to secure, protect and defend
the entire community- its members and stakeholders, facilities and properties.
The school aims to provide all members of the community with information that will
enable all its members to maximize use of the Security Office‘s resources and services
whenever needed. In order to achieve our plans and desire to give total protection to this
community, the Safety and Security Committee activated the Emergency Response Team
composed of trained personnel on initial fire-fighting steps, first aid, and evacuation
procedures. It will immediately operate in minimal time when any disaster arises and through
the decision making of the Emergency Management Team who will activate in time of
emergencies.
