Psalm 137
1. WHAT IS THE BASIC MESSAGE OF PSALM 137?

God wants us to pray to him with every thought, as Psalm 137

urges us to do. Even your most spiteful thoughts have you
ever spoken to God. Our sorrow and hatred might sometimes
spiral out of control. Remind us that all of our prayers, even
the unattractive ones, are important to you. With occasionally
violent imagery, the Psalm expresses both longing for
Jerusalem and hate for the enemies of the Holy City.
2. WHAT HAVE YOU FELT WHILE READING/SINGING THE PSALM? WHAT IS THE
GENERAL EMOTION YOU CAN OBSERVE IN THE ENTIRE PRAYER?

I experienced a range of emotions while reading and singing

Psalm 137. I felt and was able to convey every emotion that a
Christian might experience while being in a broken world
thanks to Psalms 137. I experienced a range of emotions with
Psalms 137, including gratitude, the desire for forgiveness, and
the need to confess, in addition to happiness and rage. I
learned from Psalm 147 that we should constantly turn to God
because he will always be there for us, even at the most trying
periods in our lives. Nobody's life was intended to be perfect,
therefore having a challenging existence is completely
natural. Yet, we must never forget the fact that no matter
what occurs in life, we should always remain grateful and
thankful to God. He sacrificed for us to experience life that was
made for us so that’s why it’s really important for me to
always thank him.
