One of the Philippine cultural communities is the Moro (Muslim) people.

The Muslim
people are an ethnic and religious group in the Philippines. They primarily reside in the
southern part of the country, particularly in the Mindanao region, which includes the
provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. The religious beliefs
and practices of the Moro (Muslim) people in the Philippines encompass various
domains of human life. Islam, as practiced by the Moro Muslims, provides guidance and
principles for all aspects of life, including: worship and rituals, personal ethics and
morality, family and marriage, education and knowledge, Social Justice and Charity,
Governance and Community Life, and also Spiritual Development and Sufism.
Moro Muslims engage in regular prayers (salah) as a means of connecting with Allah.
They also follow a code of ethics and morality based on Islamic teachings. This includes
honesty, kindness, justice, humility, and compassion towards others. Moro Muslims
follow Islamic guidelines for marriage ceremonies, which include the consent of both
parties, the presence of witnesses, and a marriage contract (nikah). Moro Muslims also
value education, both secular and religious. They are encouraged to seek social justice
and fairness in their interactions with others. They believe in the importance of
charitable giving (zakat) as a means of purifying wealth and helping those in need. Moro
Muslims have customary laws and practices, known as Adat or Shariah law, that govern
their community life. Some Moro Muslims are inclined towards Sufism, a mystical
dimension of Islam, which focuses on spiritual development, inner purification, and
seeking a deeper connection with Allah.
It's important to note that these domains of religious beliefs and practices may vary
among different Moro ethnic groups and individual interpretations of Islam. The Moro
Muslims have a diverse cultural heritage, and while there are commonalities, there can
be variations in specific practices and customs within the community.
