They also follow a code of ethics and morality based on Islamic teachings. This includes
honesty, kindness, justice, humility, and compassion towards others. Moro Muslims
follow Islamic guidelines for marriage ceremonies, which include the consent of both
parties, the presence of witnesses, and a marriage contract (nikah). Moro Muslims also
value education, both secular and religious. They are encouraged to seek social justice
and fairness in their interactions with others. They believe in the importance of
charitable giving (zakat) as a means of purifying wealth and helping those in need. Moro
Muslims have customary laws and practices, known as Adat or Shariah law, that govern
their community life. Some Moro Muslims are inclined towards Sufism, a mystical
dimension of Islam, which focuses on spiritual development, inner purification, and
seeking a deeper connection with Allah.
