TINKERCAD DESIGN SCREENSHOTS
Design Process:
In dot points or numbered points, describe how you made your boat design and decided on different characteristics to
include. As this is a prototype, it would also be helpful to include how your small scale product would look like in real life
with more complex materials.

Using Tinkercad collaboratively, my team aimed to use as many sustainable materials as we could for our boat design
that we knew would float after doing research.

1. First, we lined up a row of five paddle pop sticks and decided we would stick them together using sticky tape. In a
real life situation, we would aim to use stronger material like wood and nails to put together the base of the boat.
2. Secondly, we added four more paddle pop sticks to the bottom of the base as reinforcement to make our boat
more stronger and steadier. We would use a hot glue gun to stick them on so it's more secure and safe for the
people on the boat.
3. Next, we would use a cardboard or bamboo straw to tape to the middle of the paddle pop stick base and attach a
napkin to the top of that so our people would have a sail to move around the water if they needed to. This is also
important in a real life situation so the people on the boat can head safely to the nearest body of land.
4. On the corner of the boat, we added a toothpick to hold a lifesaver buoy in case the people on the boat need to
leave or can’t swim.
5. An origami box would also be made as a resource box where people can store their tools, food, and other things.
6. Finally, we added a cork to represent a person on our boat. When we create our product in real life, the cork can
be used as extra weight to see if our boat will successfully float.
