Burning fossil fuels for energy generation and transportation is a major cause of climate change, contributing approximately 35% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Deforestation and agriculture also add greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The main driver is the greenhouse effect, where gases like carbon dioxide trap heat in the lower atmosphere and cause global warming. A survey found most people believe the main causes are cutting down trees, burning fossil fuels for energy, and a lack of sustainability in energy usage.

1. According to United Nations, Generating electricity and heat by burning
fossil fuels – coal, oil, or gas – causes a large chunk of the greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, that blanket the Earth and trap the sun’s heat. Most electricity is still generated by burning fossil fuels. The energy supply sector (electricity, heat, and other energy) is the largest contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions, responsible for approx. 35% of total emissions. Globally, residential and commercial buildings, consume over half of all electricity.
2. According to European Commission, Burning fossil fuels, cutting down
forests and farming livestock are increasingly influencing the climate and the earth’s temperature. This adds enormous amounts of greenhouse gases to those naturally occurring in the atmosphere, increasing the greenhouse effect and global warming. The main driver of climate change is the greenhouse effect. Some gases in the Earth's atmosphere act a bit like the glass in a greenhouse, trapping the sun's heat and stopping it from leaking back into space and causing global warming.
3. I surveyed 10 people, and the question is “What is the main cause of
Climate Change”. And most of their answer is cutting down trees, and burning fossil fuels to generate energy. They also answered that in order to prevent Climate change is to reuse things that is still useable, stop burning fossil fuels that may harm our environment, and to have discipline in using energy at any instances.
