INTRODUCTION
Sweets - almost all people in this world like those mouth-watering sweet treats such as
chocolates, candies, cakes, etc. These are just a few examples of the many sweets we
can find. Sweet is synonymous with sugar, as we all know. As a matter of fact, without
sugar, you cannot make those sweet treats. However, have we considered the effects
of sugar on us? Have we considered that there may be things we don't know about
these sweet treats, and their real effects on us - physically and emotionally - if
consumed excessively?
As according to the data shown below, among the 161 countries that were analyzed, the
Philippines ranked 92nd based on its interest rate of sugar consumption per capita.

BODY
As human beings, we are bound to our desire for pleasure, so eating foods and
beverages containing sugar is not bad. It's a matter of how much or how often you
consume them - every day, once a month, once a year, etc. Overuse or
overconsumption of something may lead to serious consequences, just like the
overconsumption of sugar that may lead to certain diseases or illnesses - negative
effects that may be reversible or irreversible.
To find out if there are negative effects in overconsumption of sugar on the students of
BSCRIM B2022 we use qualitative method of gathering data with the help of google
forms where we conduct an interview survey which include the following questions.

shows that all of them are fond of sweet foods and beverages containing sugar.

about to eat sweet foods. Out of the 20 respondents, 18 agreed that sweet foods are
good for our health - both physically and emotionally. However, they also acknowledged
that there are negative effects if they consume foods and beverages containing sugar
excessively.

Conclusion
Based on the data gathered, we conclude that consumption of sugar can have a
positive and negative effect on the body, whether physically or emotionally. Sugar leads
to direct stimulation of the brain by triggering the release of dopamine, the “feel good”
neurotransmitter. This may explain why you crave something sweet. The negative
effects of too much or uncontrolled consumption of sugar can cause Gaining weight,
Tooth decay, Diabetes, Drowsiness, Acne, and Low Mood.
