COMMUNITY IMPACT

1. What is the Community problem?

 Open drainage systems in the village. There are no proper toilets for villagers. They use only open toilets. A lack of toilets means that people have no option but to defecate openly, polluting the environment with hazardous, stinking, raw sewage. No safe drinking water supply facility. Drainage water is directly entered village lake. Lack of health care facilities No proper disposal of waste.

2. How is the problem affecting the community?

People are badly affected from the communicable diseases like Dengue, cholera, jaundice, malaria etc. They have no knowledge about means and mode of spread, symptoms etc. of the diseases. People are eating contaminated food and drinking water.

3. Problem solving techniques used in entire process-

 Used wastes like oil tin cans for the disposal of wastes. Changed the direction flow of sewage water by entering into the village lake. Educate the people to use closed toilets and avoid open toilets. Made rallies and dramas to aware people about good sanitation. Instructed to use kitchen wastes to develop garden. Made commitment with the village people and gram panchayath to make village a Nirmala gram (clean village).

4. What are the technologies used for

problem solving?
We used Computers with LCD Digital Camera Scanners.

5. How has the Community benefited from the project ?

They learnt
About how to maintain good sanitation system To maintain personal hygiene. To maintain garbages & dustbins near by their homes and public places. To drink pure and boiled water About not to sold the government prohibited things in the village To keep their surroundings neat and clean So, as the result of above their health will be good.

6. How have the students benefited from the project ?

We came to know

 How to solve the problems and also improve their skills in use of technology. How to interact with the people. Sanitary system in different places. Development of concern about problems of community. How to implement the good sanitary methods in our area. Different diseases caused by bad sanitary system. Difficulties faced by the villagers due to bad sanitary system.
