Unit Assignment 2:
You are required to make a video in about 2-4 minutes to present your planned trip in
which work, education, and fun are overlapped.

Suggested steps:
Step 1. Brainstorm ideas based on the following T-chart.

Step 2. Think about the grammatical structures (comparison, relative clauses,

conditionals, passive, etc.) and vocabulary selected from unit 5 which you think might be
appropriate to be used in your talk.
Step 3. Practice speaking at least two to three times before making the video.
Step 4. After making the video, listen to it again to identify any mistakes or errors that
you have made during your talk. (If a lot of mistakes can be found, you should record
another video clip to avoid mistakes and improve your score.)
Step 5. Submit your video on time. Any late submission will cause you a 20% deduction
of your score.

My name is Thao. Today I’m going to talk about my planned trip to live in Spain as
an au pair next year. Word “Au pair” is still strange with Vietnamese but this job is
so popular to young people who want to overlap working, studying, and traveling. I
am going to be introduced to live with a Spanish host family in one year. I am taking
care two their amazing kids like making breakfast for them in the morning and
make sure they put on their uniform, then we will walk to school together and I will
pick them up as well. After school, I will help them with their homework and cook
dinner.
I am looking forward to live in a place of multiculturalism. You know that London
is an amazing city where offering opportunity for everyone. Besides that, I think au
pair experience can help me develop some personal skills. I definitely will have a
great time to learn new language and improve my English from my host family as
well as introduce Vietnamese to them.
To prepare for this trip, I also join to au pair community to collect experience from
au pair who are living in Spain, make friends with other au pairs from all around
the world. This is a great way of exchanging and getting to know new cultures.
Because I have a year in Spain, so I also make a plan to travel some famous places
and another neighbour countries. Especially, I really expect to winter and
Christmas to see how Spain beautiful is in holiday season and I want to try the
feeling of touching to snow. Snow will be the most amazing thing for me who come
from a real tropical country.
