Coastal cities are located on the interface or transition areas


between land and sea, including large inland lakes. Usually, coastal
cities have access to the sea or larger lakes through ports and/or
major rivers.

 Jamnagar, city, southwestern Gujarat state, western India. It is


situated in the northwestern part of the Kathiawar Peninsula,
southeast of Bedi, its port on the Gulf of Kachchh (Kutch) of the
Arabian Sea.

 Jamnagar is a coastal town of Gujarat in India

 Cement, pottery, textiles, and salt are the main industrial


products, and the city is also home to two of the largest oil
refineries in India. Jamnagar is famous for its bandhani (tie-
dyeing work), gold embroidery, and metalwareld embroidery,
and metalware.

 Jamnagar is known as the World's Oil City because it is home to


the world's biggest oil refineries. The Jamnagar Refinery is a
private-sector crude oil refinery owned by Reliance Industries
Limited.

from the Western Ghats and traverses the lowlands,
midlands and coastal areas of Kochi and finally drains out in
Arabian Sea.

 Kochi is small city at the northern tip of a land that is not


more than 19 kms long and its width in some areas is even
less than 1.6 kms. The city is separated from India’s
landmass by estuaries of rivers of Western Ghat and inlets
from Arabian Sea and this feature makes Kochi a natural
harbour. The area of the entire city is approximately 88
square kilometres and a major portion of Kochi lies at the
sea level. There are beautiful beaches and shores in Kochi
and the coastline is about 30 miles.

million Metric Tonnes per Annum.

climate. Mumbai's climate can be best described as
moderately hot with a high level of humidity. It is a coastal
region and the nature of the tropical location ensures that
the temperatures do not fluctuate much throughout the
year.

 Mumbai has overtaken Delhi to become the world’s second-


most polluted city in terms of the global Air Quality Index
(AQI).

treatment of diseases.

 Surat is a large city beside the Tapi River in the west Indian
state of Gujarat. Once known for silk weaving, Surat remains a
commercial centre for textiles, and the New Textile Market
area is lined with fabric shops.
