MEMORABILIA DISPLAY CONTEST

Objective:
1.Develop writing skills in describing multimodal texts which include picture books, posters
wherein meaning is conveyed in written language.
2. Develop positive feelings or appreciation or gratitude.

This is a joint activity of the English and ESP subjects wherein it aims to enhance the
writing skills in describing multi modal elements particularly pictures, and as a way to keep
the long term relationship with the alumni and at the same time keep the MPNHSians’
memories spark alive. They will post in the face book the memorabilia (postcards, brochures,
program, invitation, certificates, pictures, etc.) which are remarkable and worthy as their
remembrance in Mallig Plains NHS. There are two categories in this activity. (English and
Filipino). This is open to all Alumni and currently enrolled students of Mallig Plains NHS.
They will post the photo of the object in their face book account with the hashtag
#MPNHSMemorabilia and tag Mrs. Ciza Rhea A. Osoteo and Ms. Karla Mae M. Lozano
and with their original compose texts (maximum of 20 sentences) describing the
memorabilia. For students with no available gadgets, they will send the object to school
through their guardians with their written description in a short bond paper. Same criteria will
be used to objects being posted online and memorabilia being sent to school. There will be 3
winners that will be notified in the facebook page of the school. The participants’ collected
memorabilia will be displayed in the school library. Submissions are until February 22, 2021

Selection of Memorabilia (Appropriateness) 20%

Originality of the Description 40%
Clarity in the Thought 40%
